Secondhand Smoke Might Double Risk of Hospitalization for Kids With Asthma: – THURSDAY, Sept . 24, 2015 – – Contact with secondhand smoke puts kids with asthma at almost double the chance of winding up in the hospital, a fresh analysis reveals. For these young kids, secondhand smoke cigarettes can worsen symptoms and produce their condition more difficult to regulate.
